SimCenter at 2020 PEER Annual Meeting

Feb 21, 2020

At the 2020 PEER Annual Meeting held at UC Berkeley on January 16-17, 2020, the role of computational simulation in natural hazards research was emphasized in presentations provided by SimCenter co-directors Sanjay Govindjee and Greg Deierlein. The SimCenter development team made a strong showing during the poster session, and SimCenter domain experts also made presentations. The meeting was attended by over 200 researchers, practitioners, and community decision-makers from around the country.

Sanjay Govindjee presented “SimCenter Tools for Next Generation Regional Natural Hazard Engineering” during a plenary session featuring Simulation Platforms, and noted that past research projects were being leveraged to move into the future of regional simulations and new hazards.
