Through support of the National Science Foundation, domestic travel assistance for academic attendees is available to offset the cost of participation. Early-career faculty, graduate students, and post-doctoral professionals who seek involvement in the natural hazards research community are encouraged to apply.

Travel assistance includes:

1. Hotel accommodations

  • We will reserve and pay directly for your stay at the Luskin Center.

2. Symposium registration fee

  • We will reimburse the $450 fee to attend the symposium.

3. Travel reimbursement

  • We will reimburse you for travel (transportation) expenses.
  • There are restrictions on what can be reimbursed.

Important notes:

  • There is a maximum limit of $1,250 for the registration fee ($450) and travel ($800 for airfare and ground transportation).
  • There is a limited amount of travel assistance available.
  • Restrictions apply.
  • The deadline to apply is September 16, 2024. It will not be extended.

We are especially interested in participants who are under-represented minorities, women, veterans, and those with research outcomes to share that were enabled by SimCenter tools. Priority will be given to those who have not received financial support from the SimCenter in the past.
