The NHERI SimCenter participated at the 2019 PEER Annual Meeting, “Seismic Resilience 25 Years after Northridge: Accomplishments & Challenges”, held on January 17-18, 2019, at the UCLA campus. The aim of the meeting was to look at the changes that were precipitated by the Northridge Earthquake and to look forward at the advanced technologies and computational tools that are now advancing the field of earthquake engineering.
Greg Deierlein, SimCenters co-Director, provided a plenary session audience with information about the SimCenter in his presentation "Computational Framework Tools for High-Fidelity/High Resolution Regional EQ Scenarios." He also moderated a concurrent session Computational Simulation of Geotechnical and Structural Systems.
Pedro Arduino, SimCenter domain expert and development team member, presented a talk entitled Implementation of Nonlinear Site Response Tools for Surface Free-field Motion Simulations.
Members of the SimCenter development team presented posters during the evening poster session and reception which was well attended by researchers and students.
Additional SimCenter domain experts who made presentations and moderated sessions were:
