The seminar “Modelling the Dynamics of Tall Buildings Under Winds: From Historical Perspective to Recent Advances and Beyond” was organized by the University of Birmingham and sponsored by the International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE). Over 400 people from around the world attended the online event held December 3, 2020.
The seminar briefly summarized the history of wind engineering of tall buildings from the design of the World Trade Center Towers to the present-day skyscrapers and beyond. The main speaker was Professor Ahsan Kareem, SimCenter co-PI, followed by a panel discussion with experts in the field, including Tracy Kijewski-Correa, SimCenter domain expert.
