Lu Article – Third-most read in Earthquake Spectra Journal

August 9, 2020

In the past six months, the third-most read article in Earthquake Spectra was “An open-source framework for regional earthquake loss estimation using the city-scale nonlinear time history analysis”, which features the NSF NHERI SimCenter workflow for seismic damage simulation and loss prediction of buildings in an urban area.

The article was written by Xinzheng Lu, Frank McKenna, Qingle Cheng, Zhen Xu, Xiang Zeng, and Stephen Mahin, who have been SimCenter colleagues, collaborators, and project leaders. “The long-standing relationship and collaboration between Tsinghua University and UC Berkeley has been of mutual benefit to both organizations,” says Matt Schoettler, SimCenter Associate Director. “We’ve been fortunate to have hosted several students at the SimCenter through the Universities’ student exchange program.”
