Kareem Delivers Opening Keynote at ICWE15, Re-elected President

Professor Ahsan Kareem of University of Notre Dame and on the SimCenter leadership team, delivered the opening keynote presentation at the 15th International Conference on Wind Engineering in Beijing, China, held September 1-6, 2019. The keynote presentation, entitled "Emerging Frontiers in Wind Engineering: Computing, Stochastics, Machine Learning and Beyond," looked ahead at the future of wind engineering and included both the SimCenter and NHERI DesignSafe as platforms for research.
 
The International Conference on Wind Engineering is the premier event of the International Association for Wind Engineering and is held every four years at a venue that rotates among three global regions.
 
Additionally on September 10, Professor Kareem was re-elected President of the International Association for Wind Engineering for another four-year term. The election was by acclamation of the General Assembly representatives of the international association.
