A recent Message from the NHERI Council (July 2025) outlines the National Science Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting NHERI operations, providing access to research infrastructure, educational resources, and community outreach activities that advance natural hazards engineering.

The SimCenter will continue operations for the foreseeable future, providing the community with cutting-edge research tools, backend computational components, educational modules, and ongoing webinars. We are committed to ensuring uninterrupted support for users of SimCenter software, including assistance with technical and methodological questions, troubleshooting, and integration of user-developed models and research data into the broader SimCenter ecosystem.

The SimCenter is dedicated to maintaining and advancing our software platform to support transformative research in natural hazards resilience. Specifically, this includes:

  • Maintaining robust, up-to-date software for tasks such as inventory generation, advanced simulations, and Uncertainty Quantification across all tools.
  • Ensuring ongoing access to essential research tools via the SimCenter website, GitHub, and DesignSafe.
  • Fostering a vibrant user community through GitHub discussions, our newsletter, and interactive community meetings.

Looking ahead, we invite the community to continue leveraging SimCenter tools in research proposals and projects. By staying engaged with the SimCenter, researchers can continue to access state-of-the-art tools and expertise, helping them remain at the forefront of the field.

We encourage you to participate in our GitHub discussions, share feedback, and invite colleagues to subscribe to our newsletter, which includes important updates, community announcements, and information on upcoming events such as virtual office hours.

Thank you for being an integral part of the SimCenter community.

Sincerely,
Matt DeJong and Greg Deierlein,
SimCenter Co-Directors
